    Siebu has served as the chief people officer for a significant healthcare organization in western Florida for nearly four years. His prior employment included multiple stints as a vice president of human resources, three years as a system director of human resources in Ohio, and four years as a manager overseeing recruitment initiatives at a hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland. His previous positions were all in the healthcare industry.

    Learning is one of Siebu's most valued pursuits. As a young man in Liberia, he attended St. Patrick's Catholic High School in Monrovia before continuing his education at Cuttington University College in Suakoko. Unfortunately, his education was disrupted by civil unrest in his nation in the late 1980s.

     

    As a refugee, Siebu eventually traveled to Ghana, West Africa, to pursue his education. After graduating from the KN University of Science and Technology with a bachelor's degree, Siebu moved to Europe and settled in the Netherlands to obtain a master's degree. On his way to graduate school, he picked up odd jobs doing everything from meat processing to garbage collection.

     

    Samuel Siebu's future path led him to the Washington, D.C. metro area, where he was able to finish two Master's degree programs. He graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus with a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration Management. Additionally, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Strayer University with a Master of Business Administration.

     

    Despite having a successful career with his current level of education, Siebu believes in moving forward and will soon earn his doctorate.

     

    Additionally, Siebu has a certificate in strategic workforce planning from the Human Capital Institute.

     

    Professional Experience and Skills

    As a human resources specialist, Siebu is tasked with achieving goals in various areas, such as employee retention, hiring new hires, and enhancing the working environment in preparation for future hiring initiatives.

     

    Over the years, Siebu has made strides in human resources, increasing talent acquisition and cutting the time to fill open positions in half. At his most recent job, the turnover rate in key positions was also cut in half. Siebu has also created and implemented new tactics that have helped the company achieve recognition on Best Places to Work lists nationwide.

    To encourage greater literacy and educational opportunities for disadvantaged girls in Liberia, Samuel Siebu founded the SOKS Foundation. Even though the country offers free primary education, young girls and women still struggle to get to school. SOKS and other organizations work to close the gap in various ways.

     

    Personal Hobbies and Interests

    Sam Siebu is devoted to his three children, his partner, siblings, and parents. He is also devoted to his extended family. Because of the fundamental principles they instilled in him and his siblings as they grew up, he views his parents as the most important role models.

     

    When he's not with his family, Siebu looks for opportunities to live intentionally and make memories deserving of the time he has to live. Sam is 50 years old and has no intention of slowing down. He anticipates living a whole life for many more decades.
